Winter in Gettysburg Pennsylvania

We took a quick trip to Gettysburg today. I wanted to use the Canon Powershot A85 to shoot some landscapes. I'm pleased with the results.

Monument at the spot of Winfield Scott Hancock, Union second corps commander's wounding. Hancock was a superb corps commander, and kept the Union line intact on the second day when the third corps collapsed under Longstreet's first assault after being deployed improperly by it's inept (political) general Sickles.

Standing on this spot, it's easy to see why Hancock spent so much time there. It affords a perfect view of both the second and third corps positions.
