Statue of General John Buford, who played a big part in engineering the (in my view) Union strategic victory on the first day of the battle, by creating a defense in depth of Cemetary hill with his cavalry. Cemetary hill is the key to the battlefield, Buford knew it, and he preserved it for Meade.
